Our Story

Kokanie Foods was born from a simple belief the people who grow our food and preserve our traditions deserve more than appreciation; they deserve opportunity, recognition, and independence. Growing up in Konkan, founder Om Vivek Mhatre witnessed something that stayed with him for years. Farmers worked tirelessly throughout the year, yet many struggled to receive fair value for their produce. At the same time, countless homemakers carried generations of culinary wisdom in their kitchens, creating authentic recipes that represented the true taste of Konkan but never reached beyond their villages. Om realized that while the world was searching for authentic food, the real creators of that authenticity were often left behind. That realization became Kokanie Foods. More than a food brand, Kokanie Foods is a bridge between Konkan's rich heritage and modern consumers. Every product we create carries the essence of traditional recipes, locally sourced ingredients, and the hard work of the farmers and homemakers who make it possible. Our mission is not only to deliver the original taste of Konkan to every home but also to build a sustainable ecosystem where farmers earn better value for their produce, homemakers gain economic opportunities, and traditional food practices are preserved for future generations.
